Welcome to the world of Oliver Redcastle, ex-Union Army sharpshooter, ex-Pinkerton investigator. In Gunshy, the first book of the series, (set in 1882) Oliver inherits a house in Baltimore and moves there with his asthmatic daughter, Chloe. Oliver hopes to leave his bloody past behind, but that doesn’t work out. Oliver’s adventures in Baltimore continue with a medical thriller, Malpractice. In Hard Water, Oliver finds himself on the picturesque island village of Put in Bay where he must catch a bank robber and save himself from his Civil War enemies. In Trouble in Tampa, currently a finalist for the Florida Writer’s Association Royal Palm Award for Best Historical Mystery of 2018, Oliver takes what he believes will be an easy assignment. Big mistake The wild west had nothing on 1885 Florida. It’s wild pigs, wild people, and a whole lot of danger.
